About Me
Justin Potts is a Portland, Oregon–based visionary artist whose work explores consciousness, perception, and the unseen dimensions that exist beyond ordinary sensory experience. Working intuitively across acrylic, watercolor, ink, and mixed media, Potts approaches art-making as a process of discovery rather than control — allowing each piece to emerge improvisationally through instinct, curiosity, and inner guidance.
Influenced by formative periods spent in New Hope, Pennsylvania and Sedona, Arizona, his work blends spiritual inquiry, psychedelic aesthetics, abstraction, and symbolic imagery into layered visual environments that invite contemplation and expanded perception. Often incorporating collage elements and fragments of previous works into new compositions, Potts embraces experimentation and the belief that creative expression exists beyond fixed rules or prescribed methods.
Primarily self-taught, Potts was inspired early on by his father’s artistic practice and chose to pursue an independent creative path outside of traditional art school structures. Since 2019, he has also become known for live-painting immersive works at festivals and gatherings throughout the Pacific Northwest, including Imagine Festival on Orcas Island and Cascade Equinox in Bend, Oregon.
Through his work, Potts seeks not to provide definitive answers, but to participate in an ongoing exploration of what it means to be human and what may exist beyond the visible world — creating images intended to inspire wonder, reflection, and deeper connection.
